The wood commonly used to make Kettuvallams is 'Anhili', which is found in abundance in central Travancore area. Large planks are tied together using hand made coir ropes and beaten coconut fibres. This gives the Kettuvallams enough strength to withstand heavy waves in the sea. Kettuvallams are built entirely without the use of nails. It requires great skill and adroitness to construct these giant boats by tying huge planks of jack wood together. The boats are applied with fish oil and cashew nut oil and left to cure for days. With careful maintenance, they last for generations.

After breakfast proceed to the tour of Trivandrum visiting –Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple - Covering an area of about 2,400 sq. metres, the temple of Sri Padmanabhaswamy is believed to be around 260 years old. The temple with its gopuram (tower) soaring majestically upwards is believed to be one of the 108 shrines sacred to the Vaishnavites in India. The main entrance to the temple is through the eastern gopuram that towers to over 30 metres and is devised in the Dravidian style. The deity of the temple, Padmanabha (an incarnation of Vishnu) reclines on the sacred serpent in the inner sanctum. The main shrine inside the temple is well guarded with a number of massive doors and darshan (audience) can be had through the three-door openings into the sanctum sanctorum.
Napier Museum - Dating back to 1880, the Napier Museum building is a combination of the Kerala, Mughal, Chinese and Italian architectural styles. The building has a unique natural air-conditioning system. A visit to this museum gives you glimpses of Kerala's rich cultural heritage. The museum has an excellent collection of bronzes, historic ornaments, ivory carvings and chariots, and life-size figures of the Kathakali dancers in full costume.

Capecomorin Or Kanyakumari is at the tail point of India, where the three sea‘s meet together. The place is most famous for the spectacular sunset and moonrise. Other attractions include Vivekanada rock, memorial build for Tiruvalluvar, the author of the philosophical work Tirukkural, The temple of Kumari Amman (the virgin lady) and Gandhi Memorial etc.
Kanyakumari is located at the southern tip of the Indian peninsula. From the Kanyakumari beach, which overlooks the convergence of the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, one could see a spectacular sunrise and sunset. About 400 metres into the sea, there is the Vivekananda Rock. This was where Swami Vivekanada, a great thinker and philosopher of India, attained enlightenment through deep meditation. The Vivekananda memorial is built on this rock and is accessible only by boat.

The palace is well preserved and gives the air of the life during that period with its architectural style, layout of the rooms, exquisite furniture, paintings etc.
Suchindram Temple: This is a temple dedicated to the three chief Hindu Gods - Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. While Brahma stands for creation, Shiva stands for destruction and Vishnu stands for balance in nature. This temple has two interesting legends associated with it. This 134 feet temple of Suchindram is architecture of amazing dexterity and endeavor. The whole of the front face of the temple covered with sculpting from the Hindu mythology. Inside the temple is the Lingam, representing the three Gods. The Suchindram temple is very famous for the musical pillars. The pillars are constructed in such a way that when they are tapped, they give off various musical notes. Besides there is also sculptures of Hanumana, the devotee of God Rama and also the sculpture of several other Hindu deities.
It is very popular to watch the sunrise/sunset here. Because this is a meeting point of three ocean bodies - the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean, and the Arabian Sea - the spectacular sunrise/sunset sight is considered to even more special.
